Setting the Pay Period

 

The pay period defines the length of the pay class, such as; weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, or custom.

  1. Select Setup from the navigation list.
  2. Select Pay Class from the slide out menu.
  3. Select the default Pay Class, Standard, from the navigation list.  If you need to create a new Pay Class select + New.
  4. From the General column, select the Pay Period TypeClosedThe pay period defines the length of the pay cycle.. Choose WeeklyClosedA weekly pay period's length is 7 days., BiweeklyClosedA biweekly pay period's length is 14 days., Semi-MonthlyClosedA semi-monthly pay period occurs twice a month., MonthlyClosedA monthly pay period occurs once a month. For example it starts on the 1st of the month. or CustomClosedA custom pay period allows you to define the pay period length. For example, the current pay period may start on the 1st and end on the 18th and the next pay period will start on the 19th and end on the 29th..
  5. Set the starting date of the pay period at the Current Pay Period Start field. See the notes below about a semi-monthly and custom pay period.
  6. At Automatically Close Pay Periods, select the settings to automatically close your pay periods for the selected Pay Class.
  7. At Round Registrations By, select the rounding rule to use when calculating punches.
  8. Continue to the Benefit Accruals, Overtime, Break, Premium TimeClosedThe premium time tab is only available in the Enterprise version of PayClock Online., Consecutive DayClosedThe consecutive day tab is only available in the Enterprise version of PayClock Online. or Advanced tabs to complete your set up.
  9. Once complete select Save.
